The new Blink Mini 2 home security camera is on sale for only $30 right now

The Blink Mini 2 home security camera was only announced a month ago, and it’s already on sale. The camera is 25 percent off in both colors — black and white — in a deal on Amazon, bringing the already budget-friendly system down to just $ 30. The Blink Mini 2 can be used indoors or outdoors, offers HD footage in the daytime or at night and has an LED spotlight. It can be paired with one of Amazon’s smart displays for Alexa voice controls. The camera is a plug-in device, though, so you’ll need to place it somewhere with an outlet.

You’ll also need to pick up the weather-resistant power adapter if you intend to put it outside. A bundle including that adapter is on sale as well, shaving $ 10 off its normal price of $ 50. Amazon-owned Blink announced the Mini 2 camera in March, touting improvements to image quality and the option for HD night view in color thanks to its spotlight. The camera also has motion detection and two-way audio, so you can hear what’s going on and, if you want, let whoever’s on the other side hear you too.

With the Blink subscription, you can get additional features out of the Mini 2. That includes smart notifications, like person detection, the ability to stream up to 90 minutes of live video and cloud storage for event clips. If you already own a Blink Video Doorbell, the Mini 2 camera can be used with that system to work as a chime when someone rings the doorbell. In the box you’ll get one camera, a mounting kit and stand, and one USB-C cable and power adapter for indoor use.

Purchasing the Mini 2 will get you a 30-day free trial of the Blink Subscription Plan, too. If you plan on keeping it after that, it’ll cost $ 3 per month per device. You can also opt to pay $ 10 per month to cover an unlimited amount of devices if you have a multi-camera setup.

Amazon Prime members can save 61 percent on a Blink camera bundle

Amazon Prime members can save big on security cameras today. The retailer has a bundle including the Blink Video Doorbell and three Blink Outdoor 4 security cameras for 61 percent off. Usually $ 424.95, you can pick up the four-camera collection for $ 164.98.

You can connect the Blink Video Doorbell to your existing in-home chime or use it wirelessly. The device records in 1080p during the day and infrared at night. It supports two-way audio so you can hear and talk with whoever shows up on your front step.

Meanwhile, wireless Blink Outdoor cameras can alert you to motion or people in your yard, allowing you to check in from your phone or Alexa devices. The outdoor cameras have a 143-degree field of view and on-device computer vision to help with nighttime recording. The Outdoor 4 also supports two-way audio.

Each camera in the bundle uses two AA batteries (included), which Amazon estimates will last up to two years. The collection also ships with four mounting kits and the Sync Module 2, a hub that connects the cameras to your Wi-Fi network. You can bring your own USB drive for local storage or subscribe to a Blink Subscription Plan ($ 3/month or $ 30/year) for cloud storage. You can choose between black or white options for the cameras, although there’s no mixing and matching colors within the bundle: It’s all one or the other.

The deal only lasts through the end of today, wrapping up at midnight PST. Remember that you’ll need a Prime membership to take advantage of the deal. If you don’t have one already, you can subscribe for $ 15/month or $ 139 / year.

Blink security cameras and video doorbells are up to 43 percent off

You might not have to pay much to bolster your smart home’s security. Amazon is selling Blink devices for up to 43 percent off, including a Video Doorbell plus Sync Module for $ 60 (normally $ 85) — that’s near an all-time low, You can also get the doorbell by itself for just $ 40 if you already have sync hardware. Most camera kits are also on sale, starting at $ 70 (normally $ 100) for the weather-ready Blink Outdoor.

Blink is effectively the budget counterpart to Amazon’s Ring brand, but that’s not necessarily a bad thing — you’re getting a lot of functionality at a lower price. The Video Doorbell supports both wired and wireless connections, offers two-way audio, captures infrared footage at night and gives you the choice of either storing clips locally (on a USB drive) or in the cloud with a subscription plan. It ties into Alexa devices, too, so it may be your ideal doorbell you have an Echo Show.

The Blink Indoor and Outdoor models, meanwhile, remain our top picks for wireless security cameras. You get much of the same flexibility as with the doorbell, including a peak two years of battery life. Again, you’ll have to invest in the Alexa ecosystem to make the most of these products. If you can live with that, though, you might not have many complaints.
