As LG suddenly starts lurching forward with the release of their latest line of flagship devices that were announced at MWC 2016, like the LG G5 that is now dropping on April 1st, some other hardware is also starting to surface for buyers to place pre-orders. The latest to join the field are the LG 360 VR virtual reality headset and the LG 360 Cam spherical camera device that are now listed on the B&H Photo site.
Unfortunately, B&H Photo does not list an expected availability date for the devices, though we can hope they will match the LG G5 and be available at the end of next week. B&H Photo does provide the list prices for the devices and both of them come in at $ 199. For comparison, the Samsung Gear VR is currently priced at $ 99.
One of the big differences between the LG 360 VR headset and other virtual reality headsets is the method of connecting a smartphone. Most units, like the Gear VR or Cardboard require the phone to be place in the headset itself. LG has gone a different route and uses a cable connection between an LG G5 and the headset. This means the unit is not as big and bulky as other options, but it also means LG had to pack in the electronics for the display instead of using the smartphone’s display.
Meanwhile, like so many other devices hitting the market, the LG 360 Cam is designed to simplify the process of capturing immersive content that can the be delivered via virtual reality headsets.
If you are interested in placing a pre-order for one of the devices you can hit the source links below. Anyone out there planning to invest in LG’s versions of these tech accessories?

The ASUS ZenFone Zoom just went for pre-order on Flipkart in India. Other than Taiwan, the company’s homeland, and the United States, India is the only other country accepting pre-orders.
The ASUS ZenFone Zoom combines a high quality camera into a smartphone while maintaining a fairly thin profile. In matter of fact, ASUS is saying that this is the only smartphone in existence with 3X optical zoom in a body this thin. For a more in-depth look at the list of specifications, view this article covered by a member of our team when the device first released.
The ASUS ZenFone Zoom costs INR 37,999 on Flipkart. This is approximately $ 560 in USD. That will get you a whopping 128GB of internal storage. It’s available in choice of white or black, both in which are still in stock. The device is expected to launch in India early February. This is when all pre-orders will be sent out.

Two Nexus phones are coming this year. Both LG, a company familiar with the Nexus line, and Huawei will be producing the phones for Google’s signature hardware brand. The Huawei-made Nexus phone will be larger and have ‘better’ specifications than LG’s offering, but the latter will bring Nexus phones back to a more affordable price. Google is expected to announce the new devices at an event held in San Francisco on September 29. The pre-order date, though, is not set for that same day. You’ll have to wait a few weeks to secure your new Nexus phone.
A source tells Talk Android that both LG and Huawei’s Nexus phones will be made available for pre-order on October 13. This date is exactly two weeks after the aforementioned event. What the source did not provide us with is a shipping date; however, Nexus devices have a history in shipping 1-3 weeks after an announcement or when pre-orders are first taken.
Being that Google has still not confirmed an event for September 29, the October 13 pre-order date could change in the coming weeks. Or perhaps it ends up being the actual shipping date if Google does indeed decide to make either device available on the same day. For now, we are marking our calendars for September 29 and October 13.
Here is a recap of Nexus phone timelines:
