Best wireless charging pads for the Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge

samsung_galaxy_s7_wireless_charger_white_on_chest

Samsung is supporting advanced technologies by allowing the Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge to be charged without wires. Once again, your Samsung phone can be placed on a wireless charging pad to get powered up. The company first started supporting wireless charging with the Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge, and then the Galaxy Note 5 and Galaxy S6 Edge+ continued the tradition. Unsurprisingly, the company worked it into the 2016 flagship. So, just like before, the Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge can be used with wireless charging pads that use the Qi standard.

Hit the break and we’ll show you the best chargers to buy.

Editor’s note: I have not independently tested all of these products, so be aware that you may have to use a specific adapter (or “charger head”) and cable with each.

Samsung Fast Charge Wireless Charging Pad

People generally like to buy accessories made by the same company who makes their devices. If you’re one of those people, Samsung’s own wireless charging pad with fast charge capabilities is what you’re going to get and there’s no need to read on. This wireless charging pad, which is priced differently everywhere you look, works with the Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge along with all other Qi-ready devices. And you probably won’t need to remove your case or cover to use it.

It has a built-in LED light to tell you whether or not your phone is aligned properly. Select Samsung devices will also alert you when a full charge has been achieved.

With an official option like this, there’s no going wrong.

  • Pricing: $ 49-$ 69

Samsung Fast Charge Wireless Charging Stand

samsung_fast_charge_wireless_charging_stand_black

In 2016, Samsung introduced a new wireless charging pad marketed as a “wireless charging stand.”

This in-house wireless charging stand with fast charge technology is just like Samsung’s wireless charging pad. The difference? This one, because it’s a stand, positions your phone on an incline rather than having lie flat. The benefit here is that you can easily access your phone while it’s charging. Picking it up and putting it down is less likely when positioned at an angle. Or, if you’d like to glance over at your phone for information, turn on the always-on display that Samsung debuted with the Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge.

Going for the stand over the pad limits your color options to just one choice and raises the praise.

Nekteck Wireless Charging Pad

Up until now, Nekteck was a completely unknown brand to me. That doesn’t mean there’s anything wrong with the company and its products. In fact, it seems that all of Nekteck’s products on Amazon are rated with 4-5 stars. So counting out their wireless charging pad just because you’ve never heard of them is a bad move.

Nekteck’s wireless charging pad supports all Qi-ready devices, but the fast charging feature is only compatible with select Samsung phones — the Galaxy S7, Galaxy S7 Edge, Galaxy Note 5, and Galaxy S6 Edge+. To activate the fast charging feature, you’ll need to use Samsung or Nekteck’s adapters with Qualcomm’s Quick Charge 2.0 technology.

When your phone is placed on the wireless charging pad, a blue light will illuminate to indicate that your phone is charging.

Easing your mind about buying this wireless charging pad is an 18-month warranty and lifetime customer support from Nektech.

  • Color options: Black
  • Pricing: $ 29

TYLT VU Wireless Charging Stand

tylt_vu_lime_greenThe world is full of accessories, and a bunch of my personal favorites come from TYLT. Its products are well-made, colorful, and affordable. Can you ask of more? The VU wireless charging stand has a 3-coil system, comes in four colors, and costs less than you’d expect.

With the 3-coil system, TYLT allows you to put your phone anywhere on the wireless charging stand whether that’s in portrait or landscape orientation. Also, this wireless charging stand is designed at a 45-degree angle so you can still see your phone from anywhere and won’t miss a single notification coming in. The VU’s entire design is so subtle and attractive because of its popping color and the long wire sneaking out of the back. TYLT succeeded here with a very simple, modern aesthetic.

Depending where you shop, you can get TYLT’s VU for less than $ 50 with free shipping.

  • Color options: $ 49-$ 69
  • Pricing: Black, Blue, Green, Red

Choetech Fast Charge Wireless Charging Pad

choetech_fast_charge_wireless_charging_pad

The first wireless charging pad I ever owned was this one from Choetech. And it has served me well for nearly one year. Choetech’s wireless charging pad, which is the cheapest on the list, costs just $ 25 and supports fast charging.

Choetech says this wireless charging pad can charge supported devices up to 1.4x faster than competing products, and its built-in sensor lowers the status lights’ strength when charging in a dark room. Like Nektech, Choetech throws in an 18-month warranty.

Those wanting to try out a wireless charging pad for the first time should get Choetech’s product because of its price alone. You’ll be hard-pressed to find another wireless charging pad at a price so low without cutting corners.

  • Pricing: $ 25

Incipio Ghost 220 Wireless Charging Base

incipio_ghost_220_charging_baseBecause there’s a very good chance you have more than one Qi-ready device in your home or office, Incipio’s Ghost 220 exists. The Ghost 220 is a wireless charging base that charges up to three devices simultaneously. Through wireless charging, it can charge two devices on once because of the rectangle shape. Then, through a physical wire, the Ghost 220 charges a third device; therefore, even if you have just one device that can be charged without wires, this wireless charging base is still worth it because of the external charging support.

Despite charging more devices at once than other products, the Ghost 220 isn’t very expensive. It can be purchased for as little as $ 45 with free shipping on Amazon.

  • Color options: Black
  • Pricing: $ 45-$ 69

Now, yes, many other wireless charging pads exist. We just couldn’t name each and every one of them on our list. And these are the ones that we deem the best of them all. Regardless of which you choose, you’re getting a solid charger that will take your Galaxy S7 or Galaxy S7 Edge from 0% to 100% in the same time or less than phone-to-wire charging.

Happy charging!
