The Google Pixel 8 is $230 off and down to a new record-low price

There’s good news for anyone looking to upgrade their phone as the Google Pixel 8 is currently down to a record-low price. Woot is running a 33 percent discount on the new Google Pixel 8 — one of our picks for 2024’s best smartphones — dropping its cost to $ 470 from $ 700. The sale is on for the next five days or until the smartphone sells out.

The new Google Pixel 8 launched last October and scored a 90 in our review due to features like its Tensor G3 chip. Google claims the chip allows the Pixel 8 to support more text and natural voice recognition. Plus, the company boasts that the G3 chip has twice the number of machine learning models as the G1 in the Pixel 6. This strength is more important than ever with AI’s growth and the recent launch of Magic Editor, a content-aware fill and lasso hybrid.

Externally, the Google Pixel 8 looks a little different. The screen has shrunk a tad to 6.2 inches from 6.3 inches screen on the Pixel 7 — a small but noticeable change. Also visible on the smartphone are a 50MP primary camera and a 12MP ultra-wide camera.

Amazon’s Black Friday sale has Ember Smart Mugs for record-low prices

Amazon’s Black Friday deals include record-low prices on Ember self-heating coffee mugs. Typically $ 130, the 10-oz. Ember Smart Mug 2 starts at $ 90. The devices keep your coffee, tea or other heated beverage at an ideal temp and make a perfect gift for coffee lovers. The white, black and red variants are all on sale, but the black and red versions cost $ 100. Only the white model is available for $ 90.

The Ember Smart Mug 2 can heat your coffee between 120 and 145 degrees Fahrenheit, preventing your cozy, warm drink from becoming lukewarm and unpleasant. It has a companion app for Android and iOS that allows you to pick your favorite temp, set it and forget it.

The mug begins heating automatically when it detects liquid and will go to sleep when it’s empty. It lasts up to 80 minutes per charge, but leaving it on its bundled charging coaster means it can last all day, no matter how insatiable your caffeine habit is.

Amazon’s Black Friday sale also includes the larger (14 oz.) Ember Smart Mug 2 for $ 40 off. Other than size, this model has the same features, battery life and temperature range as the 10 oz. version. The white model is available for the sale price of $ 109.46 at the time of publication. Alternatively, the copper metallic model is only $ 129.95, down from its usual $ 180.

Breville Smart Ovens are down to record-low prices right now

If you’re tight on counter space, multi-purpose kitchen gadgets can come in handy by giving you one device that can do many things. The Instant Pot is a great example of this, as are Breville’s Smart Ovens that combine things like a toaster, broiler, air fryer and others into one machine. As with most Breville gear, the ovens are on the expensive side — but now you can get up to 36 percent off a bunch of Smart Oven models.

The one we like the most is the Smart Oven Air Fryer Pro, which is down to $ 320 — that’s the lowest we’ve seen and a return to its Black Friday price. The tabletop oven has 13 cooking modes, including dedicated air fryer and dehydrate settings. It’s not particularly compact with its one-cubic-foot interior, but that allows it to handle a whole turkey, an entire Dutch oven and most 9×13 sheets on which you could roast vegetables, air fry potatoes and more. If you can do without the proof, cookies and dehydrate settings, though, you could get away with the standard Smart Oven, which is on sale for an all-time low of $ 280.

Although those have “smart” in the name, they aren’t in the way you might be thinking. Breville’s true “smart” oven is the Joule Oven Air Fryer Pro, which is on sale for $ 430. It takes the standard Pro model and adds WiFi and app connectivity to it in some pretty useful ways. You can set cooking timers in the app and it’ll alert you when your food needs attention, and you can even set the machine to certain cooking modes using Alexa or Google Assistant voice controls. The app also has “autopilot” recipes, which are guided recipes you can follow while the oven handles some of the process by changing modes and temperatures automatically.

The Joule is best for those who love to spend time in the kitchen and love experimenting with new tech, while the standard Smart Ovens are better for most people. If you have a tight budget, the cheapest option in this sale is Breville’s Mini Smart Toaster Oven, which comes in at $ 128. It does a lot more than toast bread with its additional bagel, bake, pizza, reheat, roast and cookie settings, and it comes in a more compact design. You’ll be able to fit four slices of bread it in, a six-cup muffin tin or an 11-inch pizza – smaller than either of the full-sized Smart Ovens, but still big enough to make it a versatile machine.

Fitbit’s Charge 5 tracker is back on sale for a record-low $130 at Amazon

Don't worry if you missed out on a Fitbit during Black Friday sales — there are now some big deals to help you stay in shape during the holidays. The Charge 5 has returned to a record-low price of $ 130 at Amazon, or $ 50 below its usual sticker. That could make it a solid bargain if you're looking for a high-end, fitness-focused activity tracker from a well-known name. The Inspire 2 is also down to $ 60 (normally $ 100) if you're happy with the essentials.

The Charge 5 ticks many of the boxes if you're determine to stay in shape. The extensive fitness and health tracking features help, particularly if you get the advanced data from Fitbit Premium. You can optimize your workout performance and understand your sleep quality, for instance. You can track your stress in addition to heart rate and blood oxygen level, and you'll have perks like GPS, Fitbit Pay and multi-day battery life.

There are limitations. Fitbit doesn't share activity data with Apple Health or Google Fit, and you can't steer music from the tracker's screen. There's also the matter of competition: you can find some close-enough alternatives from companies like Amazfit, Xiaomi and Amazon itself that will cost less (at least up front) if you can do without some frills. Fitbit's experience in the field matters, though, and the sale price makes the Charge 5 considerably more tempting.
