Huawei D8 high end smartphone in pipeline for 2016

huawei_phone_d8

A new rumor out of China indicates Huawei still has plans to release the Huawei D8 even though the timing has been pushed back to 2016. An original roadmap for Huawei devices showed the Huawei D8 on schedule for 2015, but that is not going to happen.

The Huawei D8 will be powered by the as-yet-unannounced Kiron 960 processor. The device will have a quad HD 5.5-inch sapphire glass screen and come equipped with 4 GB of RAM. All of this adds up to a device targeted at the high end where Huawei hopes to start competing against Samsung’s devices. Early indications are that the device will be priced in excess of 5,000 yuan ($ 774 USD).
