Updated Samsung Gear Fit 2 leaked alongside Gear IconX

Samsung Gear FitIt’s been awhile since we’ve heard anything about Samsung’s Gear Fit wearable, which means it’s almost time for a refresh. A new leak has popped up showing up what appears to be the Samsung Gear Fit 2, plus a bonus pair of Samsung ear buds that are being referred to as the IconX.

Bad news is that no hardware specs were revealed, but we do know that the Fit 2 will feature a dedicated GPS chip to improve the distance tracking functionality of the wearable. It has also reportedly adopted a more curved and ergonomic design.

gear fit 2

Besides the Gear Fit 2, we’ve also gotten a glimpse at the IconX Bluetooth ear buds. They’re completely wireless, and, interestingly, also double as a fitness tracker in addition to headphones. There’s no central component tethering the two, so one of the ear pieces houses 4 GB of internal storage to hold software and music, and they’re completely dependent on touch controls.

While that still leaves a little to the imagination, there’s also no clear release date or price for either device. The original Gear Fit hit a $ 200 price point, and I’d be surprised if Samsung deviated much from that for the Fit 2. I could see the IconX costing roughly the same, since nice Bluetooth headphones are already upwards of $ 100 and baking in full blown fitness tracking will definitely drive the price up.

Late addition to the HTC 10 leaked image gallery surfaces

htc_10_white_version_leak

The big reveal of the HTC 10 on April 12th is only a few days away and we will finally get our first looks at the official production device. Notwithstanding the short amount of time left until then, a new image has surfaced that appears to reveal a white version of the HTC 10.

The image that surfaced on the Weibo social network in China shows the fingerprint scanner and one of the capacitive buttons housed in the bezel lit up. Although it does not reveal much, we can also see the Sense 8 user interface running on the device.

Along the top bezel there is a small slit present that one might presume is a speaker grill. However, while difficult to fully determine, it looks like it may not be protruding from the front glass screen and may even be underneath the glass. What it could be if not a speaker grill is unclear, but if it is something else then it might help answer the questions about the lack of a bottom grill. The design could suggest HTC has figured out a new way to implement their BoomSound feature that does not require front-facing speakers.

The LG G5 shows up in a leaked photo (again)

lg g5 profileRemember that photo of the front and back of the G5 that we saw yesterday? Want another look at the device before its official announcement? You’re in luck.

Evan Blass has released yet another photo of the device, front and back, showing what’s probably the always on display and the rear camera module and fingerprint scanner. It doesn’t reveal anything new, but it does give a great look at the fantastically sleek design that LG is going with for their 2016 flagship. Even if you miss the volume buttons on the rear, it’s hard to argue that this isn’t one of the most attractive designs LG has come up with in recent years.

Fortunately, we aren’t too far out from the actual announcement of the device. There isn’t much left for LG to shock anyone with, but it’ll be nice to get some high quality images and complete clarification on what the G5 can and can’t do.

zenpad

Asus is expected to unveil its new ZenPad series tablets at Computex next week, which will feature 4:3 aspect ratio screens and Intel chips.

While the bezels are a bit big, the tablet above does have front-facing speakers, which should do some good as far as sound quality goes.

Also expect a power button below the right-side volume rocker, a 3.5 mm headphone jack on the top, and perhaps a microSD slot on the right side as well.

7-inch and 8-inch models are expected to be released, both with Intel processors and two different storage sizes. The 8-incher will have a 2048 x 1536 screen, and the 7-incher will have a 1024 x 600 screen. Expect more information on the devices next week at Computex.
